Ritual implements are essential in the practice of Tibetan Vajrayana Buddhism, serving as means to drive away the hindrances that hinder enlightenment. The phurba dagger, known as kila in Sanskrit, is crafted to symbolically consume the triple poisons of ignorance, greed, and delusion that obstruct spiritual progress. As the embodiment of the Vajrakila Buddha, the phurba is imbued with the power to vanquish all malevolent forces. Its ceremonial usage can be traced back to the Vajrakilaya Tantra, an eighth-century or earlier Vajrayana text. Also referred to as a "sacred dagger", the phurpa is a tantric implement utilized to conquer evil entities and eliminate obstacles. Please note the Phurba is delicate, and features some breakage in the picture. But nonetheless is powerful and rendered perfect.
